Buylist FAQ
How selling your cards to us works, how we price them, and what to expect when you bring them in.
How does selling to you work?
- Add the cards you want to sell to your sell cart, from the buy list or by uploading your collection on Buylist Import.
- Submit your sell cart with your name and email. Your submission reserves those cards for you on the buy list.
- We email you a packing list. Reply to that email to set up a time to meet.
- Bring your cards in the order of the packing list.
- We check every card's condition and email you our final offer. Reply to accept it or decline it.
When and where do we meet?
We meet in central Columbus only, on weekday evenings or any time on weekends.
How do you price cards?
Every card on our buy list is priced from its current TCGplayer market price. We pay up to this share of it, and a bigger share for more valuable cards:
| Market price | We pay up to |
|---|---|
| Up to $1 | 25% |
| $1.01 to $10 | 50% |
| $10.01 to $100 | 60% |
| Over $100 | 70% |
Prices update every day, so the price you see when you submit is the one we use.
How does condition affect the price?
Buy list prices and totals are for Near Mint cards, so they're the most we'll pay. When your cards arrive we check each one and pay this share of the Near Mint price:
| Condition | We pay |
|---|---|
| NM | 100% |
| LP | 95% |
| MP | 80% |
| HP | 70% |
| DMG | 50% |
Your final offer shows each card at the condition we graded it.
Why do my cards need to be in order?
When you submit, you get a packing list sorted by set, with non-foils before foils, then by card name. We check cards in exactly that order, so bringing them the same way makes checking quicker and makes sure nothing gets missed. It's in your confirmation email, and you can print it from the confirmation page.
What if a card is missing, the wrong version, or extra?
Your final offer lists every card you submitted. A card that didn't arrive, or that turns out to be a different printing from the one you listed, shows on the offer at $0. If you bring cards you didn't list, we may add them to your offer at our current prices.
Why isn't my card on the buy list?
We only list cards we need. Once we have enough copies of a card, or enough are already on their way to us from other sellers, it comes off the list until we need more. That's also why some cards show a limit, like "buying up to 3".
Do you buy foils and foreign cards?
Yes to foils: they're listed separately, at their own price. For other languages, we buy English cards plus printings that only exist in one language, like Phyrexian cards or Japanese-only art. We don't buy other foreign-language copies through the buy list.
Can I upload my whole collection?
Yes. Export your collection as a CSV from your collection tracker and upload it on Buylist Import. We'll show you everything we're buying and pre-select the cards that match exactly. It works with exports from ManaBox, Moxfield, Archidekt, Deckbox, TCGplayer, Dragon Shield, Delver Lens, TopDecked, MTGGoldfish, Helvault, EchoMTG and Card Kingdom.
Are there any fees?
No. Selling through the buy list is free.
